KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan national dance ‘Attan’ has been included in the curriculum of US Wisconsin State University’s Art faculty, according to a media report on Thursday.
It was the first time that Attan had been included in the curriculum of an international university.
A VoA report citing Wisconsin University’s senior official Michal Estainage said that considering the importance of Attan dance in the society and the Afghan culture they decided to included it in the curriculum.
He said when he first experienced the Attan dance along with students in a room he was excited and everyone in the room hailed his effort.
He said swinging during the dance was a difficult move, adding that coordination among the dancer was vital as well.
It is pertinent to mention that Attan has rich history in Afghanistan and it has a lot of fans in different parts of the country.
