KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum says five major cement factories will be established in five provinces to make the country self-sufficient in cement production.
Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum Shahabuddin Delawar made the remarks while addressing a gathering in southern Kandahar province, Bakhtar News Agency reported.
He said cement factories would be established in Herat, Kandahar, Logar, Jawzjan and Parwan province.
Delawar added the proposed factories would help Afghanistan become self-sufficient in cement production and hundreds of millions of dollars spent on cement imports would be saved.
