KABUL (Pajhwok): The price of fuel went up while the rates of sugar, flour, rice and gold declined during the outgoing week in Kabul, market sources said on Saturday.
A worker at Ahmadyar Group of Pump Stations said the price of one litre of petrol jumped from 77afs to 82afs and one litre of diesel from 68afs to 76afs.
Mohammad Sharif, a liquefied gas seller in Kalola Pushta locality, said the price of one kilogram of the commodity stood at 61afs.
Sugar, flour & rice prices down
Zmarai Safi, head of the Food Traders Association, said the rate of 49-kilogram of flour decreased from 1,770afs to 1,750afs, 24 kilograms of Pakistani rice from 2,800afs to 2,700afs and 49 kilograms of Indian sugar dipped from 3,500afs to 3,450afs.
He said the price of 16-litre tin of cooking oil cost 1,450afs and a kilogram of African black tea accounted for 400afs and the same amount of Indonesian green tea 350afs.
Hamid Sufizada, a retailer at Dahna-i-Bagh Market, said the retail price of a 49-kilogram bag of Kazakh flour was 1,800afs, a 24-kg bag of Pakistani rice 2,750afs and a 49-kg sack of Indian sugar 3,550afs.
Also, a 16-litre bottle of cooking oil accounted for 1,500afs, one kilogram of black tea 450afs and the same quantity of green tea for 400afs.
Gold price also down
Mohammad Fawad, a jeweler in Timor Shahi area, said the price of one gram of Arabian gold decreased from 4,100afs to 4,000afs and the same amount of Russian variety from 3,200afs to 3,100afs.
Exchange rate
Haji Hussain, owner of Sadaqat Money Exchange Service, told Pajhwok Afghan News that today one US dollar traded at 77.10afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees at 250afs.
Last week, a US dollar consumed 78afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees 250afs.
