140 more killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza

KABUL (Pajhwok): Israeli air strikes on the besieged Gaza Strip have left at least 140 people dead, the Hamas government said on Tuesday.

“More than 140 people were martyred and hundreds wounded in massacres committed by the occupation (Israel) raids,” a government statement said.

AFP quoted the Gaza government as saying more than 5,000 people had been killed since October 7.

On Sunday, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees announced 29 of its workers had been killed in Gaza since the eruption of the latest flare-up.

UNRWA wrote on its X handle: “It is now confirmed that 29 of our colleagues in Gaza have been killed since October 7.”

Amid Israel’s relentless bombing campaign, thousands of Gaza residents have sought shelter at UNRWA facilities.

UNRWA says its fuel supplies in Gaza will are on the verge of exhaustion. “Without fuel, there will be no water, no functioning hospitals and bakeries…” its chief Philippe Lazzarini said.
