PARAKH (Pajhwok): Two people have been sentenced to two months in prison and 20 lashes for using and trafficking drugs in northern Panjsher province, officials said on Tuesday.
Information and Culture Director Nasrullah Malakzada said the two men had been apprehended for using and dealing in drugs two months ago.
They were lashed and jailed after the Supreme Court upheld a decision of Panjsher appeal court, the official added.
It is the first time such punishments have been executed by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in the province.
