KABUL (Pajhwok): The World Health Organization (WHO) says 344,394 people were provided emergency health care services in January 2024 in Afghanistan.
WHO said in a statement on Sunday the emergency health care services were provided in 25 provinces of the country.
According to WHO, during the same period, 268,000 patients received essential medicine.
The services were provided by WHO’s partner-organisations through 222 health centers, the organisation added.
Additionally, 38,029 children under the age of five were treated for malnutrition.
At the same time 2,314 babies were born and 11,266 women given antenatal care coverage and 6,889 postnatal care coverage.
Last Friday, UNICEF said it had provided health services to 300,000 people in remote areas of Afghanistan during this winter.
