CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): The Salang highway, connecting Kabul with northern provinces, has been reopened for traffic.
Salang maintenance chief Maulvi Abdul Halim Agha said the key highway was reopened for all kinds of traffic today morning.
He said the snow thickness in northern Salang, southern Salang and Tonal was 45cm.
Some areas have light snowfall and the Ministry of Public Works trying to clean the highway completely, he added.
MoPW asked the drivers to take wither equipment such as chains, warm clothes, food and fuel while using the highway.
