TIRINKOT (Pajwhok): Construction work has been launched on two water supply projects that would cost more than eight million afghanis in central Uruzgan province, an official said on Thursday.

Nangyalai Habibi, an official of the Rural Rehabilitation and Development department, told Pajhwok Afghan News the two water supply networks were being constructed with financial support of the Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) in Chori district.

These solar powered networks would supply water to 270 families at a time and would take three months to be completed, he explained.

He added residents of the areas had no access to potable water and their problem would be addressed with completion of the projects.

On the other hand, local residents were pleased with construction of the networks and asked the government and aid giving organizations to implement more similar projects as well.
