GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Common people in southern Ghazni province have been accused of hindering the land distribution and construction process of four Industrial Parks.

Mufti Faiz Mohammad Faizi, head of the provincial Commerce and Industry Chamber (CIC) said common people created hurdles in the way of the construction of four parks in the province.

Four locations in the provincial capital of this province — Paira desert, Sfandi, Talkhak Zar and Lashmak — were identified for the creation of Industrial Parks during Sardar Dawod Khan Regime but work remained delayed and could not be launched due to some problems.

Earlier, government officials during a meeting in Ghazni province said that according to a plan four Industrial Parks would be constructed in Ghazni.

Earlier the provincial official discussed the issue of industrial parks construction in accordance with a plan.

Mufti Faiz Mohammad Faizi told Pajhwok Afghan News: “The administrative work of all parks has been completed, land had been identified and state and public properties also spotted.”

He said people have created obstacles in the way of these parks land distribution and did not allow the construction and functioning of theses parks.

Explaining the obstacles, Faizi added: “Time to time local people conducted collective or individual collective work on Parks land, they extract the foundation stones, put stones, run tractors and usurped lands.”

We have also called to local elders to come over and discuss the issue for solution, so far this problem has not been leveled.

Faizi added: “In order to address the issue, a delegation arrived from the capital Kabul including the chief of Afghanistan Industry, Commerce and Investment (ACCI), industrial parks planning director, industrial parks maintenance director and a number of other officials but the issue still remain unsolved.”

Local people have their claims in the land but the government officials asked them to write and submit their ownership documents to the civil courts, lands recovery commission to get their rights if they have, Faizi added.

He said the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) was creating these industrial parks but if anyone create such hurdles in the ways of industrial parks they could face legal consequences.

However, local people claim that the government was creating industrial parks on their own lands.

A tribal elder of Rawza area Haji Abdul Majid told Pajhwok that the government allocated 450 acres of land in Talkhak Zar desert for the industrial park which is their pasture.

The officials should satisfy them and then create its industrial park.

An industrialist Abdulla Amini asked the officials to create industrial parks as soon as possible and distribute it to the businessmen.

Amini said: “The creation of industrial parks will further attract investors to the country and generate employment opportunities for the youth.”

According to official figures, 575 acres land of Sfandi, 750 acres land in Lashmak, 500 acres land in Paira desert and 450 acres land in Talkhak Zar desert had been allocated for industrial parks.
