FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Seven Chinese tourists, who have arrived in northeastern Badakhshan province, say they are happy with the behavior of officials and security.
80-year-old Cheng Yuwen, a Chinese tourist who visited the local museum and the Badakhshan Department of Information and Culture, said in a meeting with local officials that the people and officials treated them well.
He said they visited the national park in Wakhan district, tourist attractions and local cultures of Badakhshan people and witnessed no disturbance or insecurity during the past four days.
Information and Culture Director Eng. Zabihullah Amiri welcomed the visitors and urged them to visit other provinces, national parks, Chaqmaqtain Lake, Hawz Shiva, Hawz Topkhana, ancient sites, historical monuments, local museum and local cultures.
He said security had been ensured in the country and domestic and foreign tourists could visit Badakhshan in the tourism season
Officials say the number of foreign visitors to the province has been on the increase.
