KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Education Habibullah Aga has declared the quality of education in modern and religious sciences in the country as poor, but adds efforts are being made to improve it.

Agha told a meeting during his visit to southeastern Khost province that his aim was to visit educational centers and solve existing problems in the field of education.

Seen as crucial for the country’s development, Aga said more attention should be paid to improving the quality of modern and religious sciences.

“We pay much attention to improving the quality of whether it is modern science or religious science. We send delegations from the Ministry of Education to schools and seminaries o madrassas in this regard”.

The minister said there was a shortage of teachers not only in Khost, but in the entire country, vowing to fill 40,000 vacancies.

According to him, last year, buildings for 620 schools were construction with the help of some organizations and more buildings would be constructed this year.
