FM to govt spokesmen: Follow policy, not whims

KABUL (Pajhwok): The acting foreign minister has directed Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) spokesmen to follow government policies, not their personal whims and wishes.

Amir Khan Muttaqi issued the instructions at a meeting here on Sunday with spokespersons for different ministries, media representatives and writers.

He told the spokesmen: “You must learn how to address issues, how to talk and learn when you should remain silent and control your words.”

The government spokesmen must talk about what was in the interest of Islam, the Afghan nation and IEA, the acting minister stressed.

He commented: “Subject your thoughts and passions to government policy and obey the ones who follow IEA instructions.”
