First Class Cricket tournament begins in Nangarhar

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The seventh edition of the First Class tournament, featuring four teams, kicked off on Monday in eastern Nangarhar province, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) said.

All matches of the tournament will be played at two stadiums -- Ghazi Amanullah Khan and Najib Taraki Cricket stadiums – in Nangarhar.

Nazeem Jar Abdul Rahimzai, head of domestic cricket at ACB, told the inaugural ceremony that the seventh edition of Ahmad Shah Abdali First Class tournament that started today was according to ACB’s domestic annual schedule.

He said four teams ---- Pamir Legends, Hindukush Strikers, Maiwand Atalan and MahiparSstars are participating in the tournament that will continue until September 26.

The opening match was being played between Mahipar Stars and Hindukush Strikers at the Ghazni Amanullah Khan Cricket Stadium.

Pamir Legends will take on Maiwand Atalan in the second match of the tournament at the Najib Taraki Cricket Stadium.
