KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): A building for a school has been completed at a cost of more than 16 million afghanis and put into service in northern Kunduz province.
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) representative Arafat Jamal said the school building has 10 classes.
“This is a very important school because children of the returning families from Pakistan and Iran and internally displaced families have the best opportunity to educate their children,”: he added.
According to him, the school has the capacity to educate 1,200 boys and girls.
On the other hand, Mujahid Noorani, a resident of Kunduz city said: “Earlier, the school has no building, our children studied in a rented yard, Alhamdulillah we are happy this school got a structure”.
“We ask the government to build more schools in different parts of the city, some schools have no buildings, yards and drinking water,”: Mohammad Khalid, another resident explained.
It comes a few days after a school building was put into service in Aqtash district.
