Russian investors eager to invest in key sectors of Afghanistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): A number of Russian investors have shown a keen interest in exploring investment opportunities in Afghanistan, focusing on sectors such as industry, transport, railways, health, and agriculture.

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, met both Russian and Afghan investors here today, according to a statement from his office.

During the meeting, Baradar emphasised Afghanistan's vast potential for investment, citing the country's abundant natural resources and diverse sectors that offer lucrative opportunities for both domestic and foreign investors.

He reiterated the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan's commitment to welcoming investments from both local and international capitalists.

The Russian investors expressed a strong desire to contribute their expertise to Afghanistan’s development, particularly in key industries such as transportation, health, and agriculture.

They underlined their readiness to collaborate with the Afghan government to promote economic growth.

Baradar assured the investors of full support and cooperation from the interim government, encouraging them to conduct market assessments and begin their operations in Afghanistan, ensuring they do so in a secure environment.
