PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Traders using their personal money have constructed new residential houses for 55 flood-affected families in northern Baghlan province, an official said on Tuesday.
Five months ago, flash floods destroyed hundreds of houses and now a number of traders and charity foundations have begun building houses for them in Folul village of Borka district.
Recently, new houses were built and handed over to 55 flood-affected families in Folul village at the personal expense of traders.
In a ceremony in this regard, district chief Maulvi Dabir said 55 houses were built and were officially handed over to flood-affected families. Traders and tribal elders of Jer Khoshk Zaman Khel tribe constructed the houses.
Meanwhile, Maulvi Shamsuddin, a trader, explained the cost of these houses had been estimated at more than 30 million afghanis.
“Each house has two rooms, a corridor, a toilet, a kitchen, and a bathroom,”: he added.
These families are happy and they thanked the donors and said that similar assistance should be provided to other flood-affected families in the district.
