Snowfall leaves Ghor-Kabul highway blocked for traffic

FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): The Ghor-Kabul highway has been closed for traffic due to heavy snowfall last night, an official said on Monday.

Public Works Director Maulvi Abdul Karim Abu Shoib told Pajhwok Afghan News heavy snowfall began last night and before noon this morning, clogging the Ghor-Kabul highway in Kotal Bakak area.

The department has been trying to reopen the highway for traffic as soon as possible, he added.

The Ghor-Kabul highway is one of the country’s most difficult routes, which is occasionally blocked against traffic in winter due to snowfall and storms, confronting travelers with challenges.
