Heavy snowfall cuts off 2 districts from Maimana

MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Heavy snowfall has cut off two mountainous districts from Maimana, the capital of northern Faryab province, an official said on Friday.

Faryab Information and Culture Director Maulvi Shamsuddin Mohammadi said snowing continued in the province for the past two days.

He added roads connecting Lolash and Bandar districts with Maimana had been closed, causing problems for residents.

He said efforts had been made by local officials to reopen the roads so traffic could resume.
