KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghan community needs professionals of both religious and modern sciences in every field, some IEA officials said during a graduation ceremony at Kabul Polytechnic University on Sunday.
Hafiz Ziaullah Hashimi, spokesman for the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), wrote on his X account a total of 800 engineers graduated from eigt departments of the Kabul Polytechnic University and vowed to serve the community.
Neda Mohammad Nadeem, acting Higher Education Minister, called on the newly graduated engineers not to be fooled by the negative propaganda of enemies of the country and ones who fled abroad, because there was no respect or honor for them abroad.
Nadeem further urged the bachelor’s degree holders to continue their education up to master’s and PhD levels and serves their country and nation.
He said this society needed professionals in every field: “Don’t be upset, don’t lose patience, the government of the IEA is trying to find jobs for all.”
Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor, acting minister for the Ministry of Water and Power (MoWP) said: “Afghanistan needs professionals of religious and modern educations, the secret of international development lies in technology and we must take the advantage of technology as well.”
Acting Mines and Petroleum Minister Mullah Hidayatullah Badri said the real wealth was professionals and cadres, not money. “The IEA needs the cadre and professionals in every field.”
Acting Rural Rehabilitation and Development Minister Maulvi Mohammad Younis Akhundzada said: “The people of Afghanistan defeated empires with empty hands, the last one was the US who left the country shamefully.”
He advised the graduating engineers to build their country and get rid of the need of foreigners.
Hamdullah Nomani, acting urban development minister, said the country’s economy was emerging and told the graduates: “Consider knowledge as knowledge, your intention must to serve people, don’t rely on wealth, Allah will give it to you.”
