KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Energy and Water has predicted flooding, rising water levels in rivers, rain, and snowfall in some parts of the country in the next 48 hours.
The ministry on its x.com handle wrote that flooding, rain, and snowfall were expected along the Zabul, Helmand, and Farah rivers.
Sources have urged residents of the aforementioned areas to avoid approaching rivers during floods and rising water levels, and to inform people in downstream areas when floods and rising water levels occur to prevent human casualties.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transport and Aviation has warned of severe storms in the southern and central provinces, including the Salang Pass in the next 48 hours with winds of up to 50 and 75 kilometers per hour in some areas.
