Renewables become leading source of power generation

KABUL (Pajhwok): The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres says that renewables are projected to become the world’s largest source of electricity generation this year.

In a message on the International Clean Energy Day expressed commitment to an era of clean energy with speed, justice and collaboration.

Today (Sunday) January 26 is marked as the International Clean Energy Day.

Celebrated on January 26, the purpose of World Renewable Energy Day is to draw attention to the importance of renewable energy and raise public awareness for its development.

The renewable energy is extracted from sun power, wind power, water and the warmth of the earth which plays positive role in safeguarding the environment and prevents climate changes.
