KABUL (Pajhwok): The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Beradar has called on the deputy head of UNAMA to create transparency in the distribution of humanitarian aid and to redirect its assistance to development sectors so that people can find jobs and have access to essential services, a statement said on Tuesday.
Mullah Baradar has called on the UNAMA Deputy Head Indrika Ratwatte to establish transparency in the distribution of humanitarian aid in Afghanistan and to direct its assistance to development sectors, so that, on the one hand, employment opportunities are provided to the countrymen and, on the other, they would be facilitated in vital areas of life.
The deputy head of UNAMA said that the organization would continue their cooperation in Afghanistan, in coordination with the Islamic Emirate, in the areas of development and humanitarian assistance, providing facilities to returning Afghans, supporting the private sector and small and medium-sized businesses, creating small businesses in rural areas through microcredit, and providing Afghan farmers with alternatives to poppy crop.
