UNICEF gives Wardak schools materials worth $300,000

KABUL (Pajhwok): The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has donated school and office supplies worth 300,000 US dollars to the Education Department of central Maidan Wardak province.

The donation includes 2,528 sets of educational materials and 395 sets of office supplies, the Education Department of the province said in a statement.

Each educational kit contains ten different learning materials for a group of twenty students.

The statement added that the assistance will benefit over 50,500 primary-level students and will be distributed to relevant schools in the coming days for the new 1404 academic year.

The total value of the donation amounts to $305,760, provided by UNICEF, the statement added.

Education Director Maulvi Mohammad Usman Harith expressed his gratitude for the support and urged other organisations to contribute further to the province's education sector.
