KABUL (Pajhwok): Six American service members have been killed in the ongoing conflict with Iran so far, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Tuesday.
In a post on its X account, CENTCOM said the bodies of two previously unaccounted soldiers had been recovered from facilities struck during the initial wave of Iranian attacks in the region.
It said the identities of the fallen were being withheld until 24 hours after next-of-kin notification.
The announcement comes as the US Embassy in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia was struck by two Iranian drones on Tuesday.
In response, the US Department of State urged its citizens in more than 10 countries to leave those nations for their safety.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump told cable network NewsNation that the United States would retaliate “soon” for the embassy attack and the deaths of US service members.
The Iranian Red Crescent Society confirmed on Monday that 555 people have been killed in US and Israeli attacks in the country.
