KABUL (Pajhwok): Three Pakistani policemen have been killed and five others injured in an armed attack in Diamer district of Gilgit-Baltistan, according to media reports on Tuesday.
Dawn newspaper reported that a police team was returning from Thor village after destroying poppy cultivation when unidentified armed assailants opened fire on their vehicle.
Three policemen were killed in the attack, while five others, including a deputy to a local officer, were injured.
According to the report, clashes between the attackers and police continued for several hours after the incident.
