ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Customs officials in southwestern Nimroz say they have seized nearly three tonnes of medicines and food items smuggled from Pakistan.

The deputy head of customs in Nimroz, Mawlawi Abdul Ghaffar Mahmood, said the seized goods included medicines and food products such as syrups, serums, painkillers, rice, flour and other items, totaling 2,785 kilograms.

He said the goods were loaded onto three vehicles and were being smuggled from Pakistan into Nimroz province. They were seized by security forces in the Charborjak district border area.

Mahmood added that no arrests were made in connection with the seizure, but the smuggled goods and vehicles were handed over to the relevant authorities.
