KABUL (Pajhwok): Germany defeated Croatia, while Japan and the Netherlands played out a draw in ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup matches.

According to reports, the Germany–Croatia and Japan–Netherlands matches were played on Sunday night.
In the Houston fixture, Germany produced a dominant performance, thrashing Croatia 7–1.
For Germany, Felix Nmecha opened the scoring in the sixth minute, while Nico Schlotterbeck, Kai Havertz, Jamal Musiala, Nathaniel Brown and Deniz Undav were also among the scorers.
Croatia’s only goal came from Livano Komnenšija in the 21st minute.
In the other match, Japan and the Netherlands shared the spoils in a 2–2 draw.
The Netherlands captain opened the scoring in the 51st minute, while Crysencio Summerville doubled the lead in the 64th minute.
Japan responded strongly, with Keito Nakamura pulling one back in the 85th minute before Daichi Kamada equalised three minutes later to secure a draw for his side.
