KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and injuries caused by an explosion at a gas facility in Qatar’s Ras Laffan Industrial City.
According to reports, the explosion occurred on Monday at the main liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing facilities in Ras Laffan, killing 13 people and injuring dozens of others.
Located about 80 kilometres north of Doha, Ras Laffan Industrial City is the world’s largest LNG export hub and accounts for nearly one-fifth of global liquefied natural gas production.
In a statement, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it shares the grief of the Qatari government, people, and the families of the victims, offering condolences and expressing sympathy over the tragedy.
The ministry also conveyed its wishes for patience and strength to the families of those killed and expressed solidarity with all those affected by the incident.
