KABUL (Pajhwok): The General Directorate of Emirati Companies says the Shabashak coal mines, operated by the Northern Emirati Coal Company, produce between 200 and 300 tonnes of coal daily in line with technical standards.
According to the directorate, the Shakol, Jaihun and Qarmal mining sites also fall under the operational area of the Northern Emirati Coal Company.
Officials said the coal extracted from these mines has a calorific value ranging from 6,000 to 6,500 kilocalories and is of high quality.
They added that the coal, which provides strong and long-lasting heat, plays an important role in meeting market demand and supporting the country’s economic growth through a stable and reliable supply.
