KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan XI and the Uzbekistan national team are scheduled to play a 20-over friendly match on July 10 at the Rahmat Wali Masroor Cricket Stadium in southeastern Khost province.
In a statement, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) said the match is scheduled to begin at 9:00am (AFT) on July 10 at the Rahmat Wali Masroor Cricket Ground in Khost province.
The match is part of the Cricket Development Support Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Afghanistan Cricket Board and the Cricket Federation of Uzbekistan, which was signed in December last year.
ACB Chief Executive Officer Naseeb Khan said: “The ACB remains committed to supporting emerging cricket nations such as Uzbekistan and is prepared to extend similar support to other countries seeking to promote the sport. As part of this commitment, the ACB has previously organised capacity-building programmes and training workshops for members of the Uzbekistan Cricket Federation and several of its players.”
“Additionally, a number of Uzbek fast bowlers have had the opportunity to train and improve their skills through the ACB’s specialised fast bowling camp last year,” he added.
