KABUL (Pajhwok): Information and Culture Director of Badakhshan Zabihullah Amiri was killed in an attack by armed motorcyclists on the Faizabad-Baharak road in the northeastern province on Tuesday, police said.
Police spokesman Ihsanullah Kamgar said the incident occurred this morning while Amiri was travelling to work on the Baharak-Faizabad road, where he was attacked by two men on a motorcycle.
He added that one of the attackers was killed by Amiri’s bodyguards, while efforts were underway to locate and arrest the second assailant.
