KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s Centre for Strategic Studies says its head has discussed expanding cooperation between research institutions, regional developments and mutual interests with the head of Kyrgyzstan’s National Institute for Strategic Initiatives.
The centre said on its X account that Dr. Abdulhai Qanet, head of the Islamic Emirate’s Centre for Strategic Studies, met with Adilbek Oolushomkarbek, head of Kyrgyzstan’s National Institute for Strategic Initiatives, in Bishkek.
Afghanistan’s acting ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Mawlavi Abdul Shakoor Haqani, also attended the meeting, according to the centre.
The statement said the two sides discussed strengthening political, economic, academic and research cooperation between Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as the exchange of experiences between research institutions and regional developments.
It added that Qanet briefed the Kyrgyz official on recent developments in Afghanistan, the Islamic Emirate’s foreign policy, economic cooperation and efforts to enhance academic ties.
Qanet also called for expanding joint research programmes and strategic cooperation between the two countries, the statement said.
Meanwhile, Oolushomkarbek expressed support for academic, economic and intellectual cooperation between Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan, saying continued engagement between research institutions could contribute to mutual understanding and regional cooperation.
The centre said both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and continuing joint cooperation.
