JALALABAD (Pajhwok): At least eight Taliban insurgents, including three notorious commanders, have been killed during a US drone strike in eastern Laghman province, an official said on Thursday.
Sarhadi Zwak, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News US forces carried out the overnight air raid at around 9:00pm in the Masoom area of Alishang district.
He said eight militants were killed. Taliban’s key figures commander Shah Jahan and Taza Gul were among the dead, the gubernatorial spokesman added.
The militants came under attack when they were leaving one area of the district for another. Shah Jahan, a resident of Dawlat Shah district, was allegedly involved in subversive activates.
