Wolesi Jirga candidate wounded in Kabul gun attack

KABUL candidate Baidar Zazai was wounded in a gun attack in Kabul on Thursday, his son said.

Agha Jan Baidar Zazai told Pajhwok Afghan News the attack on his father occurred in the Shah Shaheed locality of the 8^th police district at around 11:00am.

Jan added the gunmen, along with their accomplices, managed to escape on motorcycles. After a while, police reached the scene and started investigations into the incident.

He took his father to the Sardar Mohammad Dawood Khan Hospital in injured condition. The ex-lawmaker’s condition is said to be stable.

Abdul Hai Dilawar, the 8^th police district chief, has refused talking to Pajhwok, referring this reporter to Kabul police spokesman Basir Mujahid.

When approached for comments, Basir Mujahid said he was unaware of the incident.
