Residents of northern Samangan province are concerned about the increasing population of stray and rabid dogs, as well as an increase in dog bite cases with the onset of warm weather.

Dog bite incidents have increased by 14 percent in the first six months of the ongoing solar year comparing to the same period of the last year, according to the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Wednesday.
