More than 4,800 Afghan refugees have been forcibly deported from neighboring Iran and Pakistan in a single day (Saturday), an official said on Monday.

More than 4,200 Afghan refugees returned to the country yesterday after being forcibly expelled from Iran and Pakistan.

The High Commission for Addressing Refugee Affairs says that around 10,637 Afghan refugees have been expelled from Iran and Pakistan.

As many as 12,666 Afghan refugees have been forcibly deported from neighbouring Iran and Pakistan, an official said on Monday.

Tajikistan has started deporting undocumented migrants, including Afghans, citing “concerns about smuggling and forged documents”.
