KNADAHAR CITY (PAN) soldiers, were injured in a suicide attack in southern Kandahar province on Friday afternoon, officials said.
The attack on a convoy of the NATO-led force happened in the Karz area of Dand district at 2pm, Kandahar Governor Dr. Tooryalai Weesa told a news conference in the provincial capital. One policeman and two civilians were among the injured, he said.
Zalmay Ayubi, the governor’s spokesman, earlier told Pajhwok Afghan News that the assailant on a motorcycle targeted the ISAF convoy. There was no immediate assertion of responsibility, but Taliban often claim such attacks.
On Feb 20, one policeman was killed and five other people were injured when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives-laden car in the fourth police district of Kandahar City.
