JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Two Daseh militants were killed and three others wounded in a NATO airstrike in Haska Mena district of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Tuesday.
The governor’s spokesperson, Attaullah Khogyani, told Pajhwok Afghan News the drone strike was carried out in Char Wazi locality last night.
Two Daesh gunmen were killed and three others wounded and their weapons destroyed in the strike.
Separately, a joint Afghan-NATO force seized two Kalashnikov, two guns and other weapons during raids in Anar Bagh and Bacha Kodi areas of Ghanikhel district, the governor’s spokesman said.
Meanwhile, Nagarhar police in a statement said they rescued two persons from captivity of Daesh and kidnappers.
Police spokesman, Col. Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal, told Pajhwok Afghan News the kidnapped men hailed from Haska Mena and Nazyan districts.
One of them Abdul Baseer had been kidnapped by Daesh and his release was secure with local people’s support.
Mashriqiwal another person named Haji Pakhtun who had been kidnapped by unknown people was freed in Ghanikhel district.
