KUNDUZCITY(PAN Victory Day, beating Takhar, officials said on Saturday.
The game was arranged on Friday by the provincial wrestling federation at the Kunduz municipality ground.
Kunduz beat Takhar 7-3, said the federation director, Mohammad Anwar. Wrestlers from Kunduz outclassed their rivals from Takhar. Three other Kunduz wrestlers lost to their opponents, he said.
“The contest sas held in a friendly environment,” wrester Sharif Pahlawan said.
“It was an interesting game. I like wrestling. When I came to know about the competition, I reached the venue with friends,” said a resident of Chahardara district, Baz Mohammad.
Expenses were paid by Kunduz Mayor Najibullah Omarkhel. Wrestling is a popular sport in the north, where more than 100 teams are officially registered.
