ISALAMBAD (PAN): A Pakistani provincial minister survived a suicide attack in the country’s northwestern city of Peshawar on Sunday, but four people were injured, officials said on Sunday.

The explosion around 12pm took place in front of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa agriculture minister, Arbab Ayub Jan, leaving four people injured in Tarnab Farm area on the outskirts of Peshawar City, police chief, Liaqat Ali Khan, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Ayub Jan was in house at the time of the attack that left some of his family members injured, he said.

Resident Israr, however, said it was a remote-controlled bomb explosion. The blast happened as the minister came out of his house, he said

The minister belongs to the secular Awami National Party (ANP) whose leaders have in the past been the targets of militant attacks. The ANP leads the government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
