Ghulam Ali, a Pakistani official in the area, told Pajhwok Afghan News that a US drone fired 10 missiles at a vehicle and a house in the Gerwek area of North Waziristan around 9 pm Monday, killing more than 10 Taliban fighters and critically wounding a number of others.
But a tribal elder of the area, Mira Khan, said 25 people were killed and scores were injured in the strike. He added that four missiles were fired on a vehicle, destroying the vehicle and the houses in the vicinity.
Separately, another US drone targeted a vehicle in the Barmal tribal area of South Waziristan last night, killing 6 people and wounding five others, said a local Pakistani official on condition of anonymity.
Meanwhile, five Pakistani Taliban were killed in an operation conducted by Pakistani forces in Orakzai Agency on Monday.
