13 militants dead in Mohmand operation

ISLAMABAD(PAN border, officials said on Sunday.

The overnight operation against the local Taliban was conducted in the Baizai sub-district, a political administration official, Riaz Momand, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Three insurgent hideouts were eliminated by the security personnel during the offensive, which left three soldiers wounded, he said, adding that Spina Bara, Qabar and Tora Bara areas were cleared of rebels.

A local Taliban commander, Toofan, was among the dead, said tribal elder Saida Jan, who added many families were displaced by the military action.
