7 killed, 16 injured in Pukhtunkhwa rocket attacks

ISLAMABAD (PAN’s northwestern Khyber Pukhtunkhwa province, an official said on Wednesday.

Five rockets struck the worship place late on Tuesday in the Kalanga area of Bara sub-district of the Khyber tribal region, killing five worshippers, Zarin Shinwari, a local official, told Pajhwok Afghan News.   

The mosque was partially damaged in the attack, he added. 

Without giving exact casualty figures, Mushtaq, a doctor on duty at the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar, confirmed receiving several critically wounded people.

Elsewhere in the region, one soldier of the Frontiers Corps (FC) and a child were killed after a mortar shell hit a house in the Akakhel area of Bara, said Farooq Afridi, a resident, who added two women were wounded and their house damaged in a separate rocket strike.
