QALAT (PAN): Residents of Qalat, the capital of southern Zabul province, have demanded the construction of parks and recreational areas in the city.
The Provincial Reconstruction) had funded the construction of a small park in Qalat, a city with few places for recreation, said Din Muhammad, a dweller of the Mirwais Miana area.
He told Pajhwok Afghan News that people from remote parts of the provincial capital could not visit the park because of the long distance they had to cover.
They needed more public parks and grounds which offered a good environment for studies, said Saifullah, a student of 11th class.
The Qalat Municipality, meanwhile, acknowledged the shortage of recreational places in the city. They had constructed a public park on three acres of land with financial support from the PRT, Mayor Janat Gul said.
