KABUIL (PAN on Tuesday warned the peace talks with the rebels would not be acceptable, if the council was deprived of leadership in the process.
The council’s international relations chief, Muhammad Ismail Qasimyar, told Pajhwok Afghan News they welcomed every step taken for peace in the country.
About a statement issued from the Taliban that they had agreed to a liaison office in Qatar, he said they had come to know about the report in the media.
Earlier, a Presidential spokesman Aimal Faizi said the government would issue an official reaction on the Taliban statement on Wednesday.
The Taliban on Tuesday confirmed they had agreed to have a political office in Qatar for peace talks with the Afghan government and the international fraternity.
A Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid in a statement said they agreed to have an office outside Afghanistan to initiate a dialogue process with the international community.
