LASHKARGAH (PAN): One policeman was killed and six others, including a foreign soldier, were wounded in separate incidents of violence in the southern province of Helmand, officials said on Wednesday.
The policeman was killed when the vehicle he was travelling in struck a roadside bomb in Greshk district on Tuesday evening, said an official at the police headquarters.
Col. Mohammad Ismael Hotak told Pajhwok Afghan News another two policemen and a civilian were wounded in the incident. The injured were in stable condition, he added.
Meanwhile, a military vehicle of foreign troops hit a roadside bomb in Sangin district, injuring an international soldier and two civilians, Col. Hotak said.
A Taliban spokesman, Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, claimed the fighters had blown up two vehicles of foreign troops in the Majid square area of the district, killing six soldiers.
