KABUL (HIA), led by Economy Minister Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal, decided on Thursday that it would not remain indifferent to the upcoming elections and would consult the nation on the issue.
The decision came at a meeting attended by the minister of economy, Paktia Governor Juma Khan Hamdard, Education Minister Ghulam Farooq Wardak and a number of central and provincial members of the party.
Paktia governor’s spokesman Roohullah Samoon, who also participated in the meeting, told to Pajhwok Afghan News that High Peace Council Deputy Chairman Attaullah Lodin, Senator Ustad Abdul Shakoor, Eng. Muhammad Khan, Abdul Jabbar Shalgaray and Hamidullah Tokhi were also in attendance.
The participants, including several provincial governors and parliamentarians, discussed the current political situation and shared their views on Afghanistan’s future, Samoon said. A decision on contesting the polls, scheduled for April 2014, would be taken after consultation with the masses, he concluded.
