PUL-I-ALAM (PAN, Mark Bowden, on Wednesday arrived in central Logar province by road to inspect ongoing development programmes and discuss with local officials efforts at good governance.
Bowden told a press conference in Pul-i-Alam, the provincial capital, that the ongoing reconstruction activities showed life has improved and become somehow peaceful in Logar.
He noted that people’s cooperation with the government had increased as a result of good coordination between military and civil departments.
“I have talked to central government officials on funds to provinces, and hopefully they would release them to provincial authorities,” he said.
Logar Governor Mohammad Iqbal Azizi said his administration had been attentive to people’s demands and cooperative in dealing with their routine activities.
He said governance had improved in Logar, thanks to the cooperation of the central government.
