KABUL): Croatia has agreed to provide $400,000 for the establishment of a midwifery centre in northern Balkh province, the foreign ministry said on Tuesday.
Foreign Minister Zalmai Rassoul reached an agreement to the effect during a meeting with his Croatian counterpart Vesna Pusić in Brussels.
With the establishment of the midwifery centre, mother and child mortality rates would come down significantly, a statement from the ministry said.
