KHOST CITY (PAN): Seven armed insurgents have been killed and six others captured alive during an ongoing military operation that began four days ago in southeastern Khost province, the army said on Sunday.
Codenamed Pamir, the search operation, involving Afghan National Army’s 203rd Thunder Military Crops, is underway in Sperah and Thanai districts, the corps said in a statement.
Several light and heavy weapons, anti-vehicles mines and two motorcycles, were seized during the offensive that would go on until the areas were cleared of anti-state elements, the statement added.
However, Thanai district chief Daulat Khan Qayumi said no armed insurgents had been killed or arrested so far during the operation . He said the offensive would last 11 days.
